Question Sick note questions

I have just finished my 3 month probatrionary period at work, had my assesment and i am being kept on. not signed my new, full-time contract yet. I am not prone to having time off, never had to fill out a self cert form or get a doctors not before.

I have been off work for 7+ days ill, My company requested that i get a doctors note. I went to see the doc who has signed me for for a further 7 days from last Friday (i did not ask for the extra time but he seems to think i need it) also i have been given a self certification form for me to fill in to cover the first 7 days.

Being i have been signed off by the doc:
Can i go back to work early during the signed off period or will i breach some employment law?
Will i get paid at full rates for my time off?

Is ther anything i need to know whwen fillling out the seft cert forms as i havenerver, ever doen one before.

cheers

nran

cant go back to work whilst signed off.

your company only has to pay you ssp, which is a reduced rate. however if it states on your new contract that you will be paid x amount of time whilst off sick you will get paid that.

most large companys pay 30 60 90 180 days at full pay and then half for another period.

if they give you hassle for being off sick, see a representative at work or goto the cab.
