Best Chip for Socket 7 MOBO

I have a FIC 1st mainboard PA 2013 MOBO (with nearly 400 MB RAM), which will run with at max K6 2/550 or K6 3/500. Which of these is best? where can I get it cheapest?
I am currently running K6 2/350 @ 400. Will I see any improvement?

K6 3-500 is the best to go for.I used to have a K6 3-400 and I can't remember the technical details but I think! K6 3's have a larger on chip cache than the K6 2's!
You should see a small difference in performance over your existing chip but personally,I'd consider a new motherboard (Something like a Gigabyte or Abit with a 266fsb!) which will allow you to run something like an Athlon or XP processor.Then you will see a BIG difference!!!

Anyway,just checked out AMD's website and here's the difference between K6 2 and K6 3 processors:
Performance Difference Varies, Depending on the Application
Performance differences will vary between the AMD-K6®-2 and AMD-K6-III processors, depending on the application being used and the configuration of the systems. The primary difference between the AMD-K6-2 and the AMD-K6-III processors is the amount of onboard cache. Both have 64K of L1 cache. The AMD-K6-III processor has an additional 256K of onboard L2 cache running at the same speed as the processor. This additional cache does enhance performance considerably, so an AMD-K6-III processor would typically perform on par with an AMD-K6-2 processor running one or more speed grades higher, depending on the application being used.
