If you didn't have to work what would you do?
Been talking about this this morning.
If you didn't need to work and were financially independent, what would you do to keep yourself occupied?
For me, I would go to the garage where I get my Impreza serviced and ask them to teach me how to build rally cars. Don't care if its hard work or early/late hours and wouldn't even want paying. Just being able to do something I love doing would be payment enough.
All I'd like to do is build rally/race/tuning cars.
So, what would you do?

I'd come on scoobynet and ask questions like
"What hotel should I book into for my next trip to the bahamas"
"What 62" plasma is best ?"
"Best interior for a rolls royce"

Get up, kiss the missus goodbye as she heads off to work Go to the gym and try and get this early 30's body back into a trim shape
If I have to include the missus then we'd probably buy a nice done up VW split screen camper van and go see the sites of the world.... being closely followed by a break down truck
Just seen Jerome's post I'd like to add......
Spending every winter season skiing different places - would probably start with Canada and then move down to the States.

Just for starters...
Try a variety of cars around the 'Ring.
Sailing around the caribbean
Visit every Hooters in the world
A mega road trip around most of North America.
Ski every resort in Europe and North America
Go to as many F1 venues each season as possible
Regular visits to the Playboy mansion

I've always fancied having a mountain bike shop (the Peddlar in Keswick will do), and just stocking the dog's danglies of bikes - the ones I want to play with. I'd be rich enough to not worry about actually selling anything. I could drink tea all day and chat the gorgeous girls who will inevitably be attracted to the place...
and you're back in the room

I'd go to a few local specialist garages and see which one would like to train me up as a mechanic, free of charge of course (though I may well decide to invest some money in the company to compensate them for the awfully long time it'd take them to train me ). When not doing that I'd find a local track and hoon around in various cars.
If I was more than very comfortably well off I'd consider getting my own track built, something along the lines of Millbrook, and I'd hoon around in various cars, and let others do the same.
When not doing that, I'd probably be found lazing/racing on a rather nice boat somewhere.
Following the F1 circus around for a season would also have to be done.
Obtaining pilots licence for both aircraft and helicopter, thus allowing one to cut travel time somewhat

Snowboard, Dive and see the world with a big smoke in hand.
My dream is to run a chalet-holiday company in the mountains. Mountain bike and chill-out in the summer, snowboard in the winter. Love meeting people and cooking/catering/hosting, so would be all wrapped up in one.

Interesting question for me. My wife got a job in the USA, so we left London about 18 months ago. We're going through the greencard process, but currently I CAN'T WORK as I do not have a work permit, and have at least another 8 months til I get one......
I'm far from financially secure, but I decided to volunteer to get me out of the house and found a company wanting Volunteer Ambulance Drivers.
I've been doing it about a year and have qualified as a basic Emergency Medical Tech and am going to do my Paramedic qualification in a year or so.
So now I get to spend my days tearing around in a great big Ford Ambulance with lights and sirens going, and my thumb on the airhorn all day, and I've never had so much fun!!!
The other good thing is I get to help people who need help.....
Certainly beats sitting in an office all day in Canary Wharf!

I gave up work in November. Since then I've been visiting different parts of the world working up my paragliding experience. I think of many things to do when I'm away, but right now at home, sitting on my **** typing on a keyboard is about all I'm inspired to do. I've only been back a couple of days so am blaming the weather.
I'll take suggestions.
