Have you definitely been scammed?

If you have, she's pretty daft to use her work email for scamming.

thanks

basically, person has done a bunk with goods i paid for via paypal, did not have contact details , i know it was stupid,

so item has not been delivered as they said, sent an email that was linked to the PAYPAL address and got an out of office reply,

so thought ok here we go , they have used their work addy, if they do not come back to me when the out of office clears, my thoughts were to contact them ie the company and say

trying to contact person x, who has fraudulently obtained money from me using the above address, can you supply me with details as I wish to involve appropriate authorities and do you as a company know that employees are using company email addresses for deception

what do you think

And they'd tell you to get lost, it would be against the law for them to provide any details whatsoever.

As you said in your opening post you had an auto reply stating she's on holiday!

The e-mail was sent from a BT corp system.

When did it say she would be back?

How long has it been since you 'paid' for the items? 1 hour, 2 hours? 1 week, 2 weeks?

Was it an expensive item?

I guess she didn't provide you with a tracking number?

Your call - you could eithor wait till the 11th & see what happens, or put in a pay-pal dispute. the sender could be on holiday for any number of reasons which would prevent them from sending the item.

I don't suppose her auto-reply gives a clue as to which dept she's in or who to contact in her absence?

Just wait till 11th, and see what happens.... no point in having a heart attack over a seven day wait

Its horrible when it happens, but on the bright side she does have an email account (and not just a yahoo or hotmail one) and it does say she'll be away till 11th.

You'll find her sister was meant to post it but forgot or some pathetic reason like that.... but hang in fella and update us (whichever way the cookie crumbles on 11th)

Maybe not, but someone where I work faced disciplinary action after they defaulted on an ebay transaction and the other party complained to the employer. By making the ebay transaction with their work address, they'd violated the companies computer / email use policy.

So, they might not be able to do anything, but she may be in a whole world of poo if you were to complain, depending on the corporate policy.
