how to reactivate freeserve email account?
#1
I've got a feeling my Freeserve account has been de-activated for some reason.
Its just a free one - I don't pay anything for it.
Anyone know where the link is to reactivate a dormant account ?

If I remember rightly if you go to sign up you can re-activate an old account.
I do not think they still do a free account so you may not be able to activate.

John,
They do an account called 'no-ties' which I'm on where you just pay for you phone calls to freeserve.
I get around the phone calls bit by using my Blueyonder broadband connection, so just need to collect mail from my freeserve account.

Go to freeserve.com and sign up for fsmail.
One of the options is to collect remote mail. Would this help.
fsmail is a free system and you just have to sign up.
no charge except calls.

Well its just a receiving emails from my EXISTING freeserve mail account and have missed them all since last week.
I need to find out why my exisiting one isn't working - wasn't given a word of warning from Freeserve.

You go here https://join.freeserve.com/reclaim/acr.html
I too use Blueyonder and collect e-mails from my previous Freeserve account. They only recognise active accounts as those who dial into their network, not just authenticate to their POP3/SMTP mail servers.

DV,
Excellent m8; glad to hear it worked for you.
According to the site, if it thinks your account is dormant for 169 days, it'll de-activate it. I first came a cropper back in January and I've had to re-activate mine twice since then. Looks like you can just keep re-activating the account every 6mths.
The link used to be buried deep in the site and has caused me nightmares in the past trying to track it down. I noticed that they've stuck a link on their homepage now.
Cheers,
Stefan
