Default Broadband question

If i change my phone provider, but keep the same number, will this affect my broadband? We're switching from BT to Virgin Media, but keeping the same number.

If you are changing to VM cable service this is not compatible with DSL. DSL requires a BT phone line regardless of provider.

VM do offer cable broadband though

aye, im gonna do the same. im getting ripped off for £30 a month at the moment for a supposed 2mb connection to broadband via a dsl router. only sprange thing is im getting a 0.15mb speed connection and all the indian call centres in the world cant seem to solve it. so im gonna go with virgin media for a tenner a month, keep my sky, and bt landline for sky/phonecalls, and tell mr bt yahoo broadband to suck my c*ck and erm get lost

can i ask, which package are you going for fella.?

We've already got the cable wired in, and the house appears to have a separate cable phone line, we've just never used it. I'm assuming that line will just be given our "old" phone number. Are you saying that won't work?

Right, just added 10mb BB to my VM package, install date 19th May.

So that's TV, (no movies or sports ), 2 set top boxes, free calls and 10mb BB for £56 a month. Not sure if that's a good or bad price, but it saves me £45 a month, so I'm happy!

Pimmo, if you're reading this, and you know him, then, thank Liam for me. And tell him I'm sure he could have thrown in a new V+ box as well!
