Hi,

I recently saw Maplin were doing a tiny digicam (presume with no LCD screen or flash) for 40 quid - took about 40 640 x 480 piccys. Would be ideal for a night out.
Think they're sold out though.

Anyone know of anything similar?

It might have been an AGFA CL18, www.internetcamerasdirect.co.uk were doing them for £50 a few months back, don't know if they are still doing that offer though. I got mine from there, can't say I'm over impressed. If size isn't the all important thing then I'd recommend you spend a bit more and get something better, I wish I had.

Fine for static shots in well lit areas, but a waste of time if you are taking pictures of moving objects.

Take a look at http://www.dpreview.com - they have lots of very intelligent reviews and a feature that allows you to compare models from different manufacturers side by side, although there aren't too many 640x480 models around. You could also check out http://www.steves-digicams.com.

If you see stuff by the brand Digital Dreams, walk away. These are not a quality product and a waste of money . I had one and it ws a waste of time. Also reliablity is not going to be great at this price.

OK,

I already have a 3.3MP camera but it is a bit too bulky for the pocket and I want something REALLY REALLY pocektable that is cheap (hence my requirement for 640 x 480 only) - ie, something that I wouldn't be bothered about should it get lost. It's really just for drunken night out photos so quality isn't top of the list.

Something even smaller than an Ixus! Reason I asked is that Maplin seemed to do one recently, but now sold out, so just wondered if anyone remembered the make or knew of something smaller.....

Thanks for your replies so far......

Richard

Richard,

Nip over to http://www.dabs.com]]http://www.dabs.com and enter 10S4WS into the QuickLinx box.

That should return the Umax Astrapix 320S for £39.99 inc VAT.

No idea on the spec though.

HTH,

Chris.
