7

A) 64 is the odd one out, as the 2 numbers add up to 10, where as every other pair adds up to 7

48p as it needs at least 5 coins to make it, as opposed to 4 for the other amounts. I think.

while we're at it, i might like to disagree with 8c

it jumps an odd number, and his answer jumps two.

explain your workings for those extra points

You are just added the square of the ordinal value of the number

1 + (1)^2 = 2
2 + (2)^2 = 6
6 + (3)^2 = 15
15 + (4)^2 = 31
31 + (5)^2 = 56
etc

These are'nt primary school level questions, no way are these aimed at the under 11's!!! More like Mensa or Degree level.

The IQ test that was advertised on this site is easier than these!

Q7a is bulls**t.

I could say the answer is 70 because its the only one which is a multiple of 7 (or 10), or 52 cos its a multiple of 13, Im sure I could think of cases where each one could be the odd one out if I could be bothered...

I've worked out a few of the questions now:
7.a) 64 is odd as if u add 18 to the previous number (starting from 16) you get the next in the line but 64 does not occur or it could be as Audis-get-me-hard says if you add the digits of each number u get 7 except for 64 giving u 10

7.b)Duck_Pond says that all numbers except for 48 would require a minimum of four coins to make up, 48 requires 5 coins

8.a)U multiply the previous answer by 3 to get the next

8.b)U add square numbers i.e 1 4 9 16 25 36 49 64 etc

8.c)U add the prime numbers i.e 2 3 5 7 11 13 17 19 23 etc

9. See KiwiGTI for the correct answer
