Anyone been to see Spamalot in London ? We're going to the 3pm showing on Saturday but need to know when we're likely to get out ? Need to try and get to the iMax afterwards

The running time is 2 hours 20 mins.

I assume you've already bought tickets, but if you haven't, don't sit in the gods. Even the apparently unrestricted view seats have restricted views. I couldn't see half the stage when I went. The restricting viewing seats are probably in the toilets.

Thanks, yes we booked good tickets last year.

So we'd be cutting it fine to get to the iMax for 6pm then ? Is 2hrs 20mins including breaks etc ? When can we expect to get out of the theatre ?

2 hours 20 mins includes the 15 minutes interval, so you'd be getting out at 5.20.

If you could get a black cab quickly on leaving (usually impossible to get full stop in the West End), you could be at the iMax for 6.00.

Don't forget to add in late starts and delays mate .. although it is a relatively new show, delays and technical difficulties can still occur.

I work at the Lion King and we get tech delays every so often - which is a nightmare...The longest delay we have had so far was an hour !! (including the 15 minute break they gave the audience)

Delays do happen. I was at a show that was delayed because the then Duchess of Pork was running late. She sat right in from of me. Was tempted to accidently spill something over her, but her minder looked well 'ard.

Also, DJ, are either of you sitting in seat D1 by any chance?

Sorry, not sure of the seats we're in, a friend has the tickets. They were in the middle-ish about 6th row IIRC. Why do you ask ?

We've decided to play it safe by booking the later IMAX showing which leaves some time for beers and food in between Saves being in too much of a rush in case there are delays as you say.

Good call DJ. Better be safe... probably might finish on time, but then again...

Depends on what type of food you want...
There is a nice Japanese place I go to between shows called Taro.. there s an Ed's diner around the corner as well. (great little American burger joint... great shakes)
There is Planet Hollywood between Leicester Square and Picadilly Circus, and pretty much opposite that there is Aberdeen Angus Steakhouse. Probably another good one is TGI Fridays which is at the end of Maiden Lane in Covent Garden.
Would have said Stringfellows is on the way to the IMAX, but they closed down at the beginning of the month.

The person in seat D1, to the right of the theatre looking towards the stage, gets dragged up onto the stage for a bit. At least they did on the first night.
