Cool Shawshank Redemption

Is on Channel 4 if you have never seen it yet. (Probably edited though)

One of the best movies of all time - apart from The Green Mile of course - which must also be a contender for the best ever. Notice the conection??

Yep great film and one of my all time favourites.

Everytime I see Clancy Brown now I can't stop thinking about Mr Krabs in Spongebob Squarepants though

It would have to be Shawshank Redemption if only for the twist Andy perpetrates against the warden.

Have to say it's the Mile for me, because of the part 'Mr Jangles' plays in the whole plot at the end.

I've rarely been so moved by the twist in the story that King pulled out at the conclusion of The Green mile tale.

Are you kidding??

As I say they are both neck and neck for the best ever yarns committed to film. The fact that they are both prison stories by Stephen King is purely coincidental, though significant.

Incidentally, who do you think would win in a no-holds-barred fight between Michael Clarke Duncan and Clancy Brown?

That's right.

It works on the psyche on a much deeper level than any other movie I've ever seen could even pretend to.

Ah but at the same time over on Film 4 was "The Usual Suspects" not a prison film I know but a quality film and must be a regarded as a class act.

One of those films that really has you guessing all the way through.

As far as Shawshank and Green Mile go - I could not split them, both brilliant films.

Cool Hand Luke
The Great Escape
Scum

There are several films that could stake a claim to the best ever prison movie.

Green Mile? Got halfway through the book and never bothered with the rest, very, very boring. Besides I'm not a fan of Hanks.
