Royal Marines Taken Hostage....
Iran has taken British Servicemen hostage.
Invade, and get it over once and for all?
I'm all for the use of Tactical and/or Strategic Nuclear weapons to get this sorted!

Errm, invade and get massacred by Iranians, just like the Iraqis have been killed over 3000 US troops (US figures, so prob a gross underestimate), and maimed over 50,000..............
Me thinks that this wouldnt be the best option...

Ground Invasion by the US is not likely as they are fairly well committed elsewhere in the ME.
Precision strikes by US carrier based warplanes in key intstallations such as air/defence and communicactions, weapons bunkers, etc. Around 300 key places in total. Reduce Irans ability to fight in the air and leav the Americans clear to attack by air and srike at will.
A ground offensive is ot likely.
as for rescue, who knows perhaps special forces but this is all dependant on where they are bieng held as much as anything.
Likely to be diplomatice negociations for the release.
Perhaps best to just take off and nuke 'em from space

You could send in the Greek Spartans, they wiped out 1m of Iran's finest soliders a few years back!

Nothing like Billy using our money to buy the way out of his problems then!
I think it would be an even bigger mistake to attack Iran, especially with nukes for goodness sake-what is the matter with you?
Full diplomatic pressure should be brought to bear until our men are released. It should be not worth their while to continue to hold the hostages but we should learn from the mistakes over the attack on Iraq. War should always be the very last resort when all else fails and we are forced into such a course of action.
Fine of course to sit in your armchair and watch our forces lives being risked and the killing of so many innocent people. That was the attitude of a good many people before the attack on Iraq and I think most of them have changed their minds about that one now. I still remember some saying how they were looking forward to watching it all via the media.

Lets look at the evidence – they were in Iran waters according to an Iranian general… I think I’ll wait for more conclusive evidence before making my mind up – and I suspect this evidence will say they weren’t.

Or are you just playing devil's advocate?

I am saying that after the 45 minute WMD claim and the Dr Kelly and all the other massive lies told by B.Liar our government has no right what so ever to expect people to consider it any more trustworthy than the most basic tin pot dictatorships.

... so playing the devil's advocate then. Fair enough.
I assume the Iranians navigate using the sun and stars, or do they have GPS technology provided by the the great satan? Otherwise how could they know the exact position themselves?

Thinks on afterthought after reading what a wrote, MP's who do go don't turn up either, but at least they employ there spouses and siblings, helps the unemployment figures. Well if we never had MP's where would all the spare lawyers & advocates earn a crust, would colleges/uni have to stop training them as there were in surplus, a see a saving.

Well 42 commandos is considerably cheaper then 300 Spartans, plus all that male buggery involved in being a Spartan, Though being in the Navy may give them a lead
Think of all that food supplements needing for six packs and added fitness routines to look good in a cloak, as long as the commandos don't need to think, there far dummer than para's
