Scumbag jailed (not long enough imo)
BBC NEWS | England | Manchester | Jail term for drug drink driver
A 22-year-old man from Greater Manchester has been jailed indeterminately after pleading guilty to causing death by careless driving.
John Green, of Irlam O'th Heights, Salford, drank and took drugs before the fatal crash on the M602 motorway in August 2005.
Wesley Finney, 12, a back seat passenger in the Yaris Green was driving, was killed in the crash.
Green pleaded guilty at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court last month.
The court heard how he was at the wheel of his mother's hire car, boasting he was going to smash into the car in front of him on the motorway.
Another passenger tried to grab the wheel and the car spun out of control, hitting a wall and careering across the motorway.
Wesley Finney was thrown out of the back window and across the central reservation into oncoming traffic.
Hospital treatment
He was hit by three vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene.
Green and the other occupants of the car, all injured, tried to run off, the court was told. They were arrested 20 minutes later.
He pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, aggravated vehicle-taking and driving with no insurance in February.
Bolton Council said Wesley's death could not have been predicted
The judge gave him an indeterminate sentence and said he must serve a minimum two years and 132 days in prison. He was also disqualified from driving for 10 years.
At the time of his death, Wesley Finney had been placed in the care of Bolton Council's social services by his mother.
The court had heard Green took the silver Yaris, which belonged to Salford Primary Care Trust, where his mother worked as a nurse, but without her or the Trust's permission.
A spokeswoman for Bolton Council said: "Following Wesley's death, as is usual in these tragic circumstances, all organisations supporting Wesley and his family came together to review our work.
"The multi-agency review concluded that Wesley's tragic death, as a result of a road traffic accident, could not have been predicted or prevented and that at the time of his death Wesley was appropriately cared

Agree, anyone with half a brain cell could see that these actions were likely to result in death/serious injury.
