I used to live about 15 - 20 mins away and it's quiet nice. Check out the website for Curborough it's a small racing circuit and you get free motor sport.....

wheelwright,

I took a drive around there this lunchtime (i work not too far away), as you got me wondering.

It has certainly improved a lot in recent years - since the new A5 Tamworth bypass was built. Lots of VERY expensive looking houses just off the "old road", and many more developments in the area (e.g. Dosthill).

Good points:
Loads of shops: Ventura in Tamworth, supermarkets and superstores nearby, plus nice pubs and restaurants in walking distance.
Excellent access to motorway, rail and airports (BHX and Donington International )

Potential bad:
Drayton Manor gets clogged up at in the busy season.
The B5404 is GATSO and speed-trap hell!!

It might depend on what you want out of your move. Houses are probably quite expensive (although still on the up). Cheaper would be out towards (but not near!!) AshbyDLZ - try to find the wave-front of price increases for the best returns.
