Default Digi Video camera????????

Mate at work asked me if i knew anything about them - "no" came the reply, so i thought i'd ask you lot.
Due to his new baby, he's decided to have one to capture those moments
He wants to spend £150 to £250. What should he be looking at in terms of spec? Any recomendations / advice?

Cheers

Maybe more reolies in the photography section? Dunno.

I have one, a Sony.

Tell him to go for one with a stabiliser to avoid camera shake, to get a colour viewfinder if he can, and apart from that, he should be OK with most branded ones.

The manufacturers are still bringing out new models like there's no tomorrow, so a last year's model would be good value. I've also used a Panasonic and it was decent.

He ought to go and try a few, see which format he likes and if he finds the controls fall to hand and are easy to use.

Oh, and my mate says avoid the ones with touch screens
