Default Ebay problem in regards to coilover suspension

A while ago i purchased off Ebay some Cusco coilover suspension for me scoob.

The advert clearly states that while the seller gives no gaurantee on them, he also says that there are no leaks at all from them.

When i recieved them, inside every spring was oily dirt and on the shocker piston itself, you can see oil on the surface.

I questioned the seller and he told me, when he removed them from his car months ago(they have been in storage since) he cleaned them up, using wd40 and a wee brush or something and he was not trying to dupe me, by saying there are no leaks.

I just don't know what to do tbh. Any thoughts?

eBay.co.uk: Cusco Coilovers for GC8 Subaru Impreza Turbo 1992-2000 (item 140085854932 end time 20-Feb-07 19:29:05 GMT)

His answer when i questioned him about the leaking...
"Hi there, cheers for the message.

They have been packaged up in the loft since I removed them from the car. When I removed them I gave them a good wash and covered them in WD40 and a water dispersing agent and then packaged them up. They've been in the loft for approx 6 months.

I assumed that they were in the same condition as they were when I removed them from the car. I apologise if you think you have been duped but that is honestly not my intention.

Ben"

Keep on at the seller and at least try and get some money back. To me they don't look in great condition from the pics on the advert and even look like they may be leaking.. this could be the wd40 though!
I think your going to have a battle though as the advert clearly states that he doesn't guarentee them at all. Thats usually a giveaway sign!!

True, but (and i wouldn't have minded them leaking once on) it just seems a bit OTT to just remove them from the box to see them oily.....can't accept it's wd40. I could have cleaned them better myself.

Anyone know if Cusco coilovers should have a bit under the bottom of the shocker so you can take them apart, as i'm not even sure if they ARE Cusco.

mmm, I'm not sure whether they are cusco's the set I had and sold on (because they we're to hard) looked nothing like those ones.

The only thing in common is the colour of the ring.

Mine where Bright blue with red and black, Had cusco in a couple of places, They did have a nut with a pin through it at the bottom that looked like you could undo.

I sold mine for a lot less than you paid for them!!!!

Heres a couple of pictures.

sounds like you've been done mate. Get in contanct with the seller and ask for a full refund as there not as described.. if you paid by paypal try and claim your money back that way.
I wasn;t having a dig in my earlier post.. just trying to show what the worst situation could be... I think you should try and get all your money back now though.

I'm not saying they arn't Cusco's but I don't understand why someone would remove the protective blue covering and all of signs of which make they are

Cusco do make a cheaper coilover under another brand, perhaps these are them.

sold as seen. The seller hasnt said they would be perfect etc. Ebay is full of items described in this manner. "Not been used for 6. months etc". I think you have to move on and buy some others. paypal wont hlep as nothing is wrong. Well unless you can get a expert to confirm they are not "Cusco"

I've emailed Cusco's main distributor Coordsport, to ask their opinion.

Had a couple replys and he isn't particularly happy about the situation, but when i mentioned coming to a deal, he IS willing to at least listen to what i have to say.

We both don't want to fall out over it and mess up our feedback rating.
