First Gig you ever attended!!
Following hotly on from first record ever bought - what about the first gig you ever attended.
For me - Be Bop Deluxe at Newcastle City Hall - I can still remember We are like ships in the night...
It got better as I moved out of short trousers
Most bizarre was Steve Hillage - after about fifteen minutes I could not breathe there was so much grass being smoked!
Wikipedia "blended complex studio production techniques with dreamscape anthems and hooky, progressive passages of new world lydian electric fusion"
Says it all really!

The Cure/ Siouxsie and the Banshees at Leeds Uni, 1979. Still EASILY the loudest gig I've ever attended; I couldn't hear for the best part of a day afterwards.

I have just looked up Be Bop Deluxe....apparently Bill Nelson only lives a couple of miles from where I live!
Loudest for me was easily Judas Priest at the Mayfair. They were supported by Iron Maiden who were so young they had short hair!!!
Great gig though...if a little deaf afterwards

Live Aid. Got really into gigs thereafter with my record one year being 110 gigs It did get a bit obsessive to the point where I was touring with some artists. Had a brilliant summer one year travelling through Europe with the Hothouse Flowers. Long hair, unshaven, sleeping under the stars. Halcyon days. Especially the Irish leg, Irish girls love hippies
