Default Ticketmaster scam!

I got instructed by the wife last night that I had to buy tickets for the WWE wrestling when it comes to town at the end of the year for our nephew and daughter.

I logged onto ticketmaster as the tickets went on sale at 0900hrs this morning.

I refreshed my browser every 5 seconds as the seconds ticked towards 9am.

At 9am ON THE DOT I selected "best seats available" and even stipulated the highest price tickets, only to be told "sold out"

I appreciate that some tickets for the ringside areas may have been snapped up by various methods early on, but there were literally none at all.

WTF is that all about?

As it stands, we have seats in the floored section, about 3 blocks away from the ring, so whats the chances of two kids getting a decent view?

Well pissed off

I'd really love to find out how they get them too Phil

Within an hour of going on sale there were ones on ebay like you say, so up to 6 times face value.

Well, I buy and sell a lot of tickets.
Have to a bit of homework for some of them and use other methods, but they are usually available with a bit of research on presale or via other sources.

A large proportion of stuff goes on presale now. Take the genesis twickenham gig- I am told practically the entire pitch seated section sold out on the presale available to fan club members before it even went on public sale. I got my 6 in the 3rd row from the stage at 09:00 and 10 seconds on presale. 2 minutes later the closest available was the next block back (27th row) as they sold THAT quickly.
That left only the nosebleed tier sh!te available on general sale.

I am sick of people whining about it.
If someone is a so called 'real fan' of a band/show/whatever they will either:
a) Do their homework, get in early (be it refresh and search fast or get presale) to ensure they get what they want
b) pay through the nose from a reseller.

It is simple supply and demand.

I am sorry to say that your premium ringside seats probably went on presale. So blame the wife for not letting you know sooner

So you expect to get front row seats on the day of the public sale? 3 blocks on the floor isnt too far away, you could have been up in the gods.

They probably went to fan club members first, like most sales do nowadays.

I'm not a fan so was unaware that this circus of tickets going on sale BEFORE the "on sale" date existed!

As for 3 blocks not being too far away, you care to tell that to a 7 year old who will struggle to see over the shoulders of the person in front?

Then you should have looked up on the wwe site, which sent you to bookingsdirect.com and heeded the advice that is on there:

Loads of tiered seats available on TM and bookingsdirect, just ring tm and cancel, if you ring same day they will allow it, they just dont advertise it.

Not being a seasoned ticket tout, I was completely unaware that one had to go to such ridiculous lengths to buy a couple of poxy tickets.

BTW, you've already quoted the bit about the arena floor seats in post 5, but thanks for your input

And I'll say again, when the tickets are going in seconds, you take WHATEVER you can lay your hands on to keep kids happy, regardless of your helpful advice about the arena floor being unsuitable for kids.

Personally I feel that resale of any concert tickets etc should be banned, and that promoters should be required to refund ticket less an admin fee.

Would be much fairer.

The name of the person receiving the ticket should be printed on it, and this along with photographic ID should be required to enter the venue. That'd soon make the whole thing a lot fairer.

They dont care!!!!!
'They' being the vast majority of venues, promoters and ticketmaster.

Do you moan when buying something in a shop because they have put a mark up over the price they paid from a distributor/wholesaler?

Legitimate resellers arent parasites though are they, so why would their customers object? What a stupid remark to make; are you a ticket tout?

Its not a black and white as I have implied (tickets are non-transferable though), but that doesnt alter the fact that Freak is a parasite. What sort of charver scrubber gloats about pimping tickets on a forum?

Im not a troll Freak, but I despise scrubbers like you.

No, because there is fair trading legislation in place to ensure that customers don't get their anus's violated.

Concert tickets being sold to desperate folk at 10 times face value is a total outrage and hardly comparable to a mark up or profit margin in the real retail world.

Scrubbers? Parasite?

Noone is forcing people to buy the tickets- they are priced at whatever the market rate for them is. Its been going for years. Will continue to go on for years. It is supply and demand at its most basic.

p.s Ian S does too

p.p.s
Anyone want any WHO tickets for brum - 3rd row from stage?

10 times does not happen, slight exaggeration, its normally 50-100% mark up, plus noone forces people to buy them at those prices

There are 2 WWE tickets on there worth £66.50 for a bargain £549.99. My maths aren't great but this isn't a kick in the @rse off 10x

Also there are 2 UFC tickets on there just now, value £500 for buy it now price £1300 plus £20 postage! (how the **** do 2 tickets cost £20 to post???? )

You may be right that no one forces people to buy at the stupid ridiculous crazy prices asked, but more often than not, parents who are not clued up on ticket buying (99% probably) are forced into being raped in order to give their kids what they want. Maybe we should be harder parents and refuse the wee ones their outings that they wait all year for, based on my refusal to be violated by the bloodsuckers!

The ticket pimps do. If they hadnt bought the tickets in the first place, then theyd be available to people who wished to attend at face value.

Searching for wwe glasgow, the highest price is one pair at 300 or offers, which will sell at 150-200, none of the others have sold, so just cos they might be listed at 600 it doesnt mean they will sell for that. All the other buy it nows are for 200

£66.50 will be per ticket also. So yeah, your maths isnt great
