BBC employee on the train is suggesting the train hit something on the track.
Early reports suggest 180 people on the train, and there are quotes saying the stretch of line was capable of 95mph
95mph + a train rolling down the embankment doesn't sound very good.
Hope everyone has made it off ok.

Just looking at pics on net. All the carriages seem mostly intact and only one death (although that's obviously too many) Shows how much stronger/safer this modern stock is compared to old mk2/3 carriages or even HST units. Big to the designers/engineers who built it.
