Can anyone help, just built a DIY PC, it is playing up on the following. It will not recognise HDD after I have shut it down and do an immediate switch on (ie switch off then hit the power button).
If i pull the power cable out , put in it work fine every time.
I have changed the IDE primary and secondary on the mobo and changed the HDD from master to cable select.
It still does it.
Is it the HDD or mobo
help appreciated

Check the jumpers on the drive has been set correctly for a master drive etc.
How makes the drive? (please do not say IBM)
