Q for IT contractors - credit checks & IVA with new contract
Hi,
Brother is going thru process of gettting an IVA....but he's an IT contractor and worried might get credit checked if gets new contract with, say, a bank.
Anyone have any experience of gaining new contracts and whether they run credit checks or ask if you have ever "come to arrangements with creditors in the past" etc etc?
IVA = Individual Voluntary Agreement (slightly less severe than complete bankruptcy).
Or do most IT contracts not even run any checks on you?

There should be no reason why -- any client's contract will be with your bro's company, not he himself. Agencies often ask for passports and stuff but you can dissuade them by saying that your company has verified that the person supplied has the right to work in the UK, etc.
Only situation I can think of where he would be credit-checked would be if applying for a contract that requires security clearance, or maybe there's something similar in financial institutions.
