Question Anybody know their insects? Need to identify one please

Sorry don't have a picture, but does anybody know what insect is the same shape and size as a large ladybird, except it's orange/brown with white spots?

And are they harmful to plants/trees in any way?

Sorry for the stoopid question but thanks if you can help

I think it is a heavy feeder, and according to a site I looked up they even eat normal ladybirds if they are hungry enough, but its harmless enough to you AFAIK
