Post Anyone fly a flexwing microlight ??

I have had 3 lessons so far and I am loving every minute of it, just wondered if anyone else has/does fly a flexwing ?

There are a few for sale under flex wing section here in case you haven't got a clue what I am on about.

AFORS, the Aircraft for sale website, including microlights, ultralights, helicopters, gyrocopters, ppc's and foot launched flying machines for sale

Doesn't it get a bit boring after a while? Aren't they too slow to really get anywhere new from where they are based?

Cool

have my first lesson booked , just waiting for the better weather, and snowboard season to end

think it will be little nervous on the first flight, they look like they sway all over they place

the new aircraft with big 4stroke engines are quite a nice piece of equipment, and can cruise along fully laden(2x16stone adults +luggage) at about90mph, but a good one will set you back about 10K
how many hours before your first solo penfold????

Had a passenger ride in one of these things

One of the scariest days of my life, landing sideways in some serious wind

great fun

about another 7 hours until solo, had ago in a quick 912, 100mph top end which is quick up there lol, learning in a pegasus so top end is 60mph which is quick enough fo me in the P1 seat !!!

Have started the search for my own machine as I need it for solo, think I will go for a cheper 2 stroke at first then move up to on of the quicker ones. The landing is still a bit freaky 10ft up at 50 then wam your down lol....

YouTube - Micro Air Racing

I am learning near Watnall ( jct 26 M1 ) heading into the wind the G/S was really low I did a 180 and followed the M1 and I was going past everything G/S must have been 120mph.

. The video is well shot with some funky background music, a few tarts and some nice sunny rugged coastline. You're flying up and down the M1, not quite the same is it?

Not having a dig or anything but given its range and the weather in this country not quite sure what the point is.

Remember I am still in the very early stages, when I was learning to drive a car it was not in the Alps but on a housing estate in Stafford lol......

The range can be upto 8 hours ( if your bladder can hold out..)
The weather can be a draw back, I have already had a lesson cancelled due to bad weather, but no diferent to the time I was learning to ride a bike.

Already on my lessons I have been over the peak district and that was really nice and one day I plan to fly over the snowden range, looking forward to seeing Grib-Goch from a few feet up.

I suppose its not for everyone but I am really enjoying it at the mo....
