Default West wales to Yorkshire - doable tomorrow?

Its half term next week and we got to get our daughter to her grandparents for the week - only people we got to have her all week.

Anyway they live in Pontefract and we live in Haverfordwest. Here theres not a jot of snow and its just wet. However M4 is pretty bad and so apparently is Monmouth.

Pontefract they said is OK and they probably be alright till they hit Brum.

Due to other commitments on both sides its tomorrow or not at all.

I would have thought that motorways etc should be OK tomorrow?

motorways would be clear unless there is a big freeze. I cant see any problem to be honest with you as the main roads should be gritted anyway. (they are round mine and we havent even had any snow)

The A40 - fond memories. That used to be the highlight of my week, hooning it back from Haverfordwest to Leamington on a Friday arvo after a week in Wales. Absolutely caning my Sapphire 1.8GLX to within an inch of its life - stupid risks I used to take but it had to be done.

Is that road still any good or is it overrun with scameras? I cant' remember the road number but I used to go straight through the middle and link directly onto the M50.

Good times.

A48 between Crosshands & J49 is only passable westbound, with care at present, its closed eastbound. Some bloke has just been on the radio saying there's upto 18" of snow on the road. Parents live in Crosshands & they say they've got about 7" of the stuff.

More snow has been forecast for the early hours, probably best to make a decision in the morning.

If I take the Impreza (which isn't often) then I'll tend to go that way. You got the dual carriageway from St Clears to Carmarthen but before and after its good old roller coaster country.

Handy too because you go straight past Kieth Price Subaru.
