Default Algebra Question..........

Following on from the earlier Maths thread, I need an Algebra problem solved. Where else than scoobynet to ask
Strange what you forget, I done 2 years of maths at Uni

I am working on a tax spreadsheet that will calculate the best way to take money out of my comapany, taking into consideration Salary, NI, personal tax, Corporation tax, dividends, Company car payments....the list goes on.

Anyway I have the following formula:

Net Pay = dividend cost - (Dividend Cost * 0.325)

I know what Net Pay is, so the unknnown is Dividend Cost

£5000 = dividend cost - (Dividend Cost * 0.325)

I need

Dividend Cost = ?????

Free copy of the complete uber tax spreadsheet to those who can help

that was quick, I managed to get to

dividend cost = 0.675 / net pay

knew I went wrong somewhere as the figures looked totaly wrong, in true classroom style, care to show your working so i can see where I went wrong.

£5000 = dividend cost - (Dividend Cost * 0.325)

£5000 / dividend cost = 1 - 0.325
£5000 / dividend cost = 0.675
£5000 = dividend cost * 0.675
£5000 / 0.675 = dividend cost
