3 piece suites?
Looking to spend up to £3k for something which is well made and won't start falling to bits after a few years.
Any recommendations?
thanks

We always complain about our DFS sofa, but it's now 12 years old and only had to change the cushions because I spilt a bowl of soup on the sofa and it started to smell. The cushion covers where changed following a cowboy style house move damaged the old ones, but even though the sofa was 6 years old DFS could still get replacement covers made. The only real issue is that the covers, being natural fabrics have faded in the sun, but I suspect most sofas will do that. Cost me £1400 for a three seater and a chair.

Im as tight as a nuns tuppence yet I bought my two sofas from Barker and Stonehouse in Harrogate. They do great quality stuff, granted its quite expensive but when they have sales you can pick up some real bargains. I got mine for 3,500 for a pair of grand sofas by a company called Tetrad and when you take it 10 months interest free it makes it that much better (interest better in my pocket than theirs)
Not everyones cup of tea but suits my house and they are 43 inches deep!!!
::: tetrad: Detail :::
Alternatively you can go somewhere like ttp://www.sofasofa.co.uk/index.cfm?flash=1
You buy direct from the makers and even better now they take cards!!! I bought 3 sofas when I was married before and it was C.O.D. only.

1 - why does he want to spend so much on a suit
2 - why does he feel the need to post that he can afford to do so

I'll second Barker and Stonehouse.
Got a 2 and 3 leather seater from there when they had their 19.46% sale.
I had a massive hangover, no intentions to buy anything and was just killing time before the match

weve had a few suites from DFS and when we get fed up with them we have sold them to family or friends and they are of a very good quality for the money.Suites are a bit of a fashion thing now and its one of those things that you may want to change when you redecorate so why spend a load of money

Overpriced? - I don't think so, you get what you pay for
Very good quality, last for absolutely years and years...

Mmm I was in a similar position. I brought my L shape leather sofa + 2 seater from DFS or Harveys. Came in at £1400 after some haggling. Once I got them, used / lived with them, came to the confusion that they are just mass produced crap.
After a while, noticed that where I sat was starting to sag, werent that comfortable, and werent exactly made well. Leather was thin aswell.
Compared to the suites in my parents house, which are 20+ years old, new modern suites just arent made like the old ones.
In the end I sold my L shape crap for £500. Currently selling the other bits aswell, just to get rid. Going forward, when looking for suites, I want individual sprung, removable cushions for starters. Im not sure I would go with leather again, as its not cat friendly, and although easy to wipe clean, drys out in the sun, and isnt that comfortable.
