Fortune, million pound giveaway.
Perhaps I'm becoming a cynic in my old age but is this about helping worthwhile causes or boosting already inflated egos? We have five multi millionaires allegedly giving away a quarter of a million of their own money each. They could all do this without the publicity circus of this show but then they are hardly doing it for the benefit of the recipients. £250 000 is a lot of money but pocket change to some of the panel. I suspect they are receiving hefty fees for this show. They are all getting massive amounts of publicity on prime time slots so this can only help their business interests. Above all they are trying to become household names and certainly one or two are vying for Simon Cowell's mantle. Then again maybe I am being cynical.........

Me too
I thought almost the exact same thing.........
All I could think was how much thier "Public Profiles" and for that of there business' would profit.
Would probably cost more than £200k in advertising for that I reckon
They are business people at the end of the day and I think if it was just for good causes they would be supporting charities etc directly.
Well thats would I would do anyway

Sounds like being cynical for the sake of being cynical. Worthy (on the whole) people are getting cash for their dreams etc. no harm in that, so what if the panelists are getting publicity (bad in the case of the simon chap, everyone thinks he's a prat, a b'stard for the sake of being a b'stard )
However, I am completely cynical when it comes to Jeffrey Archer. The convicted purjerer really is in it to do something about his public image, be seen as a 'nice guy' etc. I dunno about the others but what philanthopic tendencies has Archer ever shown in the past?

I watched the first show and was embarrased, sitting in my living room cringing for the 'scum freaks' that were literally begging for money to live some pipe dream beyond their means.
The millionaire panel, sitting there basking in their splendour, looking down their noses whilst inwardly gloating only demonstrated by their smug smiles and patronising wit...
The man who wanted £15k to put a giant toilet on the back of a fire engine to dive into... The ginger kid who wanted money to go to Hogwarts because he was special, the women who wanted to be weightless for a few minutes...
The retarded seals in the audience clapping anything and everything in a bid to woo the conscience of the panel...
Needless to say I havent watched another...
All participants in the show should be put in front of a firing squad...
Vote for me You know it makes sense
