Does any one on here who works shifts, ever have trouble eating after being on nights?
I seem to get hungry, but have real trouble eating anything some times, I start feeling a bit sick and dont want any more!
Apears to only happen when ive been on nights, when im on earlys I eat normally. i.e Breafast, Lunch and a meal when I get in, so Im presuming it must be nights thats doing it to me?
So Anyone else get anything like that?
Cheers
Dave

When I'm on nights I only eat once a day at about 4pm , if I eat anything later on (ie 1-2am) then I start to feel sick and then I feel terrible for a couple of hours . I do drink about 8 mugs of tea in a 12 hour shift plus several cans of coke .
When I've finished nights for the next couple of days I eat like a horse .

AS sadistic as this may sound I find the easiest way to cope with nights is just to try and live the day normally, I'e not going to bed for 10 hours or whatever when I get in. Stay up and if I'm gonna need a kip it will usually be later on in the afternoon infront of the telly or something, therefore eating meals at meal times, works for me!

I used to drive a lorry on night shift and I could'nt eat a thing until about 06.00 hrs and that would be really the only thing I would eat all day cos it made me feel really sick! Thought I had better eat something though to keep the energy level up!

Used to work shifts years ago when I first started work - ended up eating 4 meals a day when on nights, and had a terrible sleeping pattern.
Typical night went -
07:00 Leave work, get home, eat breakfast with Dad as he was going to work. Go to bed around 08:00.
Wake up around 12:00. Have lunch with Mum. Fall asleep for a couple of hours.
Wake up around 17:00. Have dinner with rest of family.
Start work at 22:00
Break around 02:00. Eat sandwiches prepared by Mum (thanks Mum )
Felt permanently tired and had no social life for 2 weeks out of 3 as afternoon shift finished at 22:00. Funnily enough, didn't put on weight though. Was glad to move off, but did miss the people I worked with.
However, it seems to have left me with the ability to recover from being jetlagged very quickly.
