Car bumped and driver drove off
Just followed a Fiat people carrier up the road and he hit a brand new Vectra that was parked at the side of the road,he then pulled in and waited for about 1 minute and drove off.I also pulled in further down the road and witnessed it all and left a note on the window of the damaged car with the other cars details.I would be gutted if someone did that to mine and pi55ed off.Anyone else done this on here?

Good work! I'd do the same if I saw that!
Some ******* ***** ***** ***** **** ****** ***** in a scaffolding lorry drove over the back of my Impreza about 18 months ago, the rear wings were hanging off and the wheel was crushed, there were police there trying to help him get out of this narrow street, and several people heard / saw it, but despite my investigations no-one took the name of the company / registration and the policemen didn't record the incident........ Six weeks without my car and lost my no claims bonus

Mine's to tow my sprint car to events on a trailer as it's on slicks and not road legal. Is that an OK reason for a tow bar on a scoobie?
Just don't mention the c word 'cos that's fighting talk.

A case of justifiable caravaning?

I had to take avoiding action a couple of years ago when a geriatric driving towards me decided his Nissan Micra was actually as wide as a double decker bus. Ironically it wasn't his wing mirror I hit but a parked cars.
I left a brief note explaining what had happened and why and my contact details. Luckily the casing of my wing mirror popped back on and wasn't damaged, there was a slight scuuf on this other poor souls wing mirror.
On another occasion I saw a woman in a car park smash her car into another parked car.
She made a real mess and made a big song and dance of writing something on a piece of paper as people looked on and putting it under the wiper of the stricken vehicle.
She seemed well to do and had an expensive car herself but for some reason I wrote her reg number and make and model of her car on a bit of paper.
After she drove off the owner appeared and I went to speak to him to tell him what I had seen which is just as well as the sly cow had pushed a blank piece of paper under his wiper.
I gave him my details but never heard any more
Personally I work on the theory I treat people how I'd hope they'd treat me!

it is your duty as a driver to either stop at the scene of an accident and provide your details to the owner of the property, police officer etc or to do similar within 24 hours.
I reversed into someone's garden wall a few years back but as there wer bricks missing out of the wall prior to hitting it, I couldn't be arsed to get out of the car to check whether I had caused any further damage.
Unluckily for me, a neighbour of the person whom's wall I had hit, heard the collision, took my details and reported me to the police.
To cut a long story short I received a summons and ended up in court to receive 6 points for failing to stop and failing to report an accident (AC10 & AC20). In a way I was fortunate as each offence generally carries 6 points on there own.
so kids, if in doubt stop, or visit the local police station within 24 hours
end of lesson
