The above is true now i'm afraid.
Used to go to Newquay out of season for surfing. Used to be great, nightlife just used to be the locals, who were cool.
Went back a couple of years ago and it was full of chavs. After driving 300 miles to get away from essex i needn't have bothered.
Its quite a trendy place for stag and hen weekends, so its always good for a few pissed up half decent birds!

I went every year from 1992 - 1996 and stayed at Sunnyside at Quintrell Downs... Every year was fantastic!
Then in 2001 we went again all in our mid twenties and it was just full of the scummiest stag and hen nights imaginable. Fighting everywhere, most of the pubs had been left to rot, even the caravan site had gone down hill big time...
The carpet in Sailors was still the same and stickier than a grannys guff

So we havent been back since...But vallum, if you're 17-20 years old, built like a brick sh1thouse, with an earing, tattoos on your hands and 15 mates in tow, you'll have a fantastic time

What are you looking to do?
If it's clubbing then it's a decent place for this but only at weekends (all week in season)
If it's a posh meal out look elsewhere.
I know the place well so can answer any questions - Lot of nearby places are nicer to look at but Newquay can still be fun and it has some decent surf breaks around.

Anybody else remember the Talltrees club, in the late 90's?
Best club ever! 3 different floors, each with a different kind of music, chill out room and food bar.
Wonder what it is now!.

Steve - It became Lucifers then went back to Tall Trees again!
Pulled a few birds there but also had a few scraps in my teens.
Sailors is now better -But only slightly.

Ten years ago Newquay was full of surfers and blonde beach babes it is now full of d**kheads and p***ed up idiots.
avoid at all costs.
if you must ago - please please stay away from Smugglers (hell) Haven.

The 70's was when I went too ....... great place then - most cars couldn't make it 
But I was there last year, 2006, and it was the absolute pits!! The shaven-headed, tattooed, knuckle duster wearing chavs were everywhere (that's the females I'm talking about!!!)
Tenby in Wales has gone the very same way - once great, now full of thick Chavs!!

The state of change in Newquay kinda reflects the whole of the uk really!
Was a good place to be in the 70's, not bad in the 90's, now a sh1thole full of *******!!
