I got my tongue pierced about 6 months ago. I was wondering how long it's safe to remove the bar for at any one time. Did it overnight the other week and it's was fine.

I know other piercings can heal almost immediately. My GF had to remove her nipple ring when she had an MRI scan. Within two hours the nipple had healed over, we just couldn't get it back in

Just wondered how long it'll take to heal over?

My Girlfriend, a good mate and me had a bet when we were pissed up. Me and mate had to get tongues done and she had to get the healed nipple re-done all at the same time.

Mates and my tongue went great, but due to scare tissue her nipple was not easy to do. Toes are still curling now just thinking about it. Not a nice thing to witness.

My GF had suggested it to me before and I thought no way. Didn't hurt and had no issues apart from a little swelling.

The tongue heals quickly, anything over a week could prove difficult.

At the end of the day though, Phill, the extra pleasure i'm sure your GF derives from the piercing is offset by people's perception of you. Use this as an opportunity to leave it out and buy a party pack of vibrators instead

I was worried about this after I had it done. I've managed to bite it once. That hurt!! I got a plastic ball on the bottom and I make sure the bar isn't too long.

Apparently it raises the risk of mouth cancer, as it is a serious wound to the tongue, the same affect can be caused by sharp edged teeth.

Plus you end up thounding like Jamie Oliver!

Bit annoying when you go for a **** though as it shoots out the side unless you remember to put your finger over the hole

ive had a few piercings in my time, most gone now, ah, the youthful exuberence.

anyways, i have three left now. my tounge (which used to be pierced twice) my left nipple (ouchy) and my manhood.

people may say whatever they want, but the tounge and prince albert come in handy especially for sexual expliots, ask the missus. regards the time, i once came home pi$$ed, popped out the price albert (the one wwhere they pierce it through your jap eye and out under your foreskin) and fell asleep. it went back in (a 4mm thick ring) 12 hours later with no problems.

tounge bar, about 12 hours and its closed (as i found when i took out one piercing and left the other in)

dont really swap the nipple ring, just leave it in.

Tongue flesh doesnt heal very quickly, if at all. I know this, I was hit on the chin whilst playing cricket as a kid. I bit my tongue quite badly and today, it still has not fully healed up, many decades on

the tounge doesnt affect my teeth to be honest. ive chipped a couple at the back but nothing major.

my prince albert has chipped more teeth actually

pain wise, its not that bad, all mental really. people think as its your todger, its the holy grail, and cannot be touched. thing is though, it can, and as long as pierced by a totally competant piercer (who happened to be a good friend of mine and my missus).

what usually happens is the piercer injects a numbing liquid down the jap eye first. this stings like **** as its compared to having a "swab" done. 20 mins later, the little fella is totally numb. piercer gets needle pops it so far doen the eye and cuts through the flesh near where your banjo string is (sorry foreskin) on one side. mine is on the right of my banjo string. pops ring through after the needle, buts in the ball and away you go.

now obviously it bleeds, mine did a lot actually, so some sort of sterile glove comes in handy to catch any clotted blood. make sure before you go in, you have a wee best you can. its best to try wait as long as possible after having it done, as the first one really really stings. imagine pi$$ing on an open wound... similar.

all i did was keep it clean via diping in sea salt water solution, and rinsing afterwards thoroughly with warm water.

2 weeks later, all is good and i moved up a size to a 3.2mm thick ring, then later a 4mm thick ring, most comfortable for me personally.

anything else you wanna know, im quite the expert lol.
