I have a big hole in one of my wisdom teeth, due to being **** scared of jags I'd rather suffer with it rather than go to the dentist, I find Ibuprofen, beer or red wine an ideal pain killer

Thanks all, i've been taking 8 cocodomol per day for the past few days... rang the dentist this morning, and she said... can you wait til thursday.......well, this morning i could..... but not now!!!!
I think it's something like an absis (sp) as three teeth are all sensitive to touch..... right at the front too, where you bite!!
off to try and sleep.......
Cheers!

Have you tried the Whiskey on cotton wool, as suggested in the link I posted Supposed to be a good pain reliever, as well as an antiseptic

As above oil of cloves is suppose to be brilliant.
Go to bed with a warm hot water bottle wrapped in a pillow case, and lie with your face on it

if it is an abcess whatever you do, don't try and knock the tooth out - no matter how much pain your in!!
You'll release the poison into your blood stream and you'll be really poorly - I knew someone who did this once

Why is it, everytime I am going for a check up, tomorrow as it happens, someone puts a thread up like this. Always makes me think I am going to need all sorts of treatment :shudder:

i had toothache before walked into the bathroom and got my electric toothbrush out and brushed it as hard as i could done the trick for now
what ever you do if its a absess dont keep it warm with any sort of heat as it makes it bigger and worse trust me i know from my own experience! the only thing i can suggest with that is boiling hot salt water as its a cleanser but spit it out once swirled round your mouth thats what my dentist said to me

Popped to the dentist last week in pain.Told me it was an absess and also the molar had to come out there and then.Wasn't ready for that news
I think the crack when it came out might have made the waiting patients sit up.
Still bloomin swollen a week later.Co codomal helped though.Just

Best to use Paracetemol and Ibuprofen. You can take them both at the same time and the combination is most effective. Go for the high strength ones (do not take more than the stated doeage). Do NOT drink alcohol whilst you're on these!!

I know this sounds mad but if you have a whole that's cousing the pain then...
BREAD
Thats right chew bread into your cavity and the pain will instantly dissapear, and i'm not kidding... though someone was nuts when they told me but sure enough I got home got some bread and presto worked a treat... problem is it doesn't last all night but it last quite a while...

Kapake is one brand of a stronger version of co-codamol, which is only available on prescription. Still widely used, but will usually be prescirbed by drug name ( ie co-codamol 30/500) rather than brand name, as the generic version is cheaper
