pc virus can some one help please :(

last week my labtop went bananas and i found later on it was due to couple of unexplained RE: emails. anyway i have reformated the c drive and reinstalled all the software again .

now the computer is working fine however every no in a while i am starting to get these ghost scary noises in the background they last for about 5-10secs. i can't find any programmes running in the background. can some one help before i loose it !!!!!!

You could be mad... or it could be a virus.. could still be in the master boot record if you didn't fdisk it....
or you could be using a macintosh ... sad mac etc.

cheers guys
i am using a PC and not a mac.

the antivirus which also was reinstalled does not seem to want to update the latest viruses so it is not showing anything

please guys help

Press Ctrl-Alt-Del when sounds occur, try to spot it...

Updating your antivirus software is a must, if you have had an infected email you will probably get another.

Agree with comments above about deleting & repartitioning the drive using fdisk to ensure a completely clean disk. But antivirus software may save you the trouble...
