In a later post he says he hit a tree at 70mph, so he was going at least that fast.

I would have thought at 70 he would have suffered some serious injuries (i'll go back and read the thread from end to end later)

LOL!

you do not think it may be to do with him not being as good a driver as he really thinks he is do you
Read through the thread on the other board, a prime example of someone who should not be on the road, and for all the right reasons, the bloke is a complete knobber and i am glad he did not kill or injure anyone else!

tbh how many people blame their own driving skills (or lack of) when they've had an accident?

Not getting you Merid, just using your quote as a generic example ...

I hate it when people brag that "I hit this at xxmph". If he hit that tree at 70, he'd be dead, or most certainly not walking the next day. The car would look like Princess Di's merc.

By the time you hit brakes, skidded, hit debris etc the impact speed is much lower than the initial travelling speed, that particular Skyline look like a tad over a 40mph impact no more.

Speed of travel and speed of impact are two very different things, that often get mixed up with upping ones ego. The bloke is a 1st class feejit. And thats a family freindly understatement.

I'd be looking at the oncoming tree rather than the speedo!!!

Exactly. Doing the 70mph, THEN losing control, and THEN hitting a tree.

nah you'd be laughing at the read-up of his next insurance quote, especially if he wants a skyline. i dare say its more ridiculous than a driver with 10 months experience driving a red 99 uk turbo

ermmm.... *il get my coat*

He may well have hit a tree at 70, just not necessarily head-on. Or the tree may be a small one that slowed him down a bit or he could have hit the side of the car at 70, span, slid, hit another tree or 10 then came to a halt. The point being he didn't go from 70-0. prob 70-40-30-20-0. Clearly if he hit a reasonable tree at 70 dead on (i.e. 70-0) then he'd be history.

Great rhyme as well Micky!

I could not help myself - registered as Polar Bare! and left a comment.

That is one great thread and i bet the guy wishes he had kept schtum!

also this gem from page #16 sums it up
"To the OP,

1 you obviously have very little understanding of either legal process or law.
2 You obviously have sod all idea about seatbelts (or is your head so far up your backside it won't fit through the windscreen)
2 you obviously have a sufeit of confidence over talent behind a wheel
3 you obviously have a lack of insurance - I think the insurance company called it right by pricing you out - don't you ?
4 I hope you decide to actually take some proper driving lessons (i.e. advanced) before you decide to come anywhere near the roads near me - you are patently a liability
5 there was a speed limit - it's not always a test - the good driver drives appropriate for the conditions - you obviously did not.
6 I hope your mother has stopped your pocket money for being such a div as to post all over the net about your stupidity - this makes you the same level as the people who filmed themselves pretending to be Luke Skywalker fighting with lightsabres (actually fluorescent tubes filled with petrol).

The most worrying thing is that you don't seem to get the fact that it was totally and completely your fault - both the accident and the global humiliation you are getting now - which is a bit sad, because even Pavlov's dog got it in the end - come to think of it, he never stacked his car either...."
