Default Now why on earth.......?

Have Mr Beckham and Mrs Beckham decided to move to Hollywood?

Could it possibly be the 1/2 million bucks per week for 5 years?

Surely not.......

MADRID (Reuters) - David Beckham will leave Real Madrid at the end of the Spanish season and sign a five-year deal for U.S. side Los Angeles Galaxy worth $1 million (514,380 pounds) a week, the biggest in world sport.

You would have thought the man and his family already have more then enough money to keep most of the UK in a luxurious life style for the rest of thier days.

Surely you come to a point in your life when enough is enough. Just slip into the background and enjoy the fact that people have been stupid enough to throw millions of pounds at you for the last 15 years

$125 Million per year over 5 years works out at just under $500,000 per week - The quote was that he will earn $1 million each week he plays.

good luck to him if someone is daft enough to pay $125million to footballs most overrated player who now is more famous for what he and his wife looks like more than is limited talent.

Or struggle along for 5 more years, and earn another $125 million.

Now, before any of you shortsighted people carry on further, let's look at this from a purely business perspective. There's probably absolutely nothing 'daft' about it at all.

The club will probably make £50/£100m (guessing of course butt he point remains) a year in sales, merchandising, advertising, corporate deals and so on from asset X. Asset X costs them £25m a year so clearly there's a great deal of money to be made by purchasing asset X. Asset X in this case is David Beckham. Got little to do with his performance on pitch.

They don't pay out this money just for the fun of it you know.

I reckon he just fancies some time in the states, might as well get paid a fortune whilst he is there, even when he is knocking forty he will still be better than any Amreicans, even I seemed good when I worked on a summer camp over there, just stopping them from picking the ball up and running with it was a breakthrough.

As CEL said, it probably isnt purely the money, they have so much its largely irrelevant even with a missus like his, I find that even with my meagre means I run out of things I want, I think thats why posh is like she is, too much money and nothing left to aspire to apart from the one thing nobody will give her, adulation for her artistic talent.

I reckon DB still has a few tricks left in him even in European football, in America he will look like a god.

Good luck to him, and his Mrs. Top bloke in my opinion, keeps himself to himself (to a point), not out drinking, fighting etc. A good honest family man!

I'd consider going too for that money, if any other US club want to make a bid for my soccer skills let me know.

Of course it isn't. They would probably have moved there anyway.

Would you want to move back to the UK in their position? Anyone who's travelled could answer that question without hesitation, or repitition...

If your loaded, why constrain yourself to the UK?

There isn't enough in the UK to keep a rich person preoccupied....and the tax saving will be huge too

It was reported at $1 Million a week! I think that is obscene money and they must be seriously short of sense to pay that kind of money to a hasbeen!

Well, you can blame the people stupid enough to buy the extortionately priced footy ticket and subscribe to Sky Sports that fund their wages

Not difficult to see why - also i believe sticky Vicky is hoping to launch a career in Holywood - as an actress FFS - God help us all!
I would have though she would have had her hands just full putting new batteries in David's 'Speak n Spell 'and organising his colouring book collections
