So - why have they canned the HD version (and made it available for PS3 download, IIRC, Webby had it I believe), pending release of GT5???
Apparently it looks pretty, but plays badly.
I'll agree - if it looks like that, then it certainly looks good!
Shaun, any comments???

Agree though, it does look nice, but Sony are always great at marketing.
Does anyone remember those screen shots thast Sony released of GT4 on the PS2, touted as 'ingame' shots, well they were but only from the photo mode which re-renders the scene in a higher resolution.

Looks good, but is anyone else just sick of Evo's, Scoob's, Skylines and Supercars in games and the same locations
How about a decent sim of old Hot hatches, old school fords, hot rods, i.e. more mundane but still special stuff, mk1 Capri vs Mk1 Golf Gti over the net, full damage modelling would be great.
I think Test Drive Unlimited is a step in the right direction as the GT style game is getting a bit boring.

hot rods boring, hot hatches too slow for games where you have the option of racing a 1000bhp vehicle etc
MK1 GTI was in GT4 though.
I have TDU and lets face it, its not a real racer, just a arcade mess about really. The racing itself is tedious, the cruising with friends is fun.

And that's dispite the glowing dissapproval of a seriously limited community that arbitrarily paste the physics as being "****"
I can't believe polypony digital didn't send over a few reps to Scoobynet - oh, how much they could have learned.

GT4 is one of the most overrated car driving games ever, had much more fun with toca race driver. Don't get me wrong, I play GT4 a lot and like it loads, however it falls down in a fair few places. I mean I got the caterham in GT4 and where on earth did they get the 3 speed transmission from? the car takes 10/15 seconds to get to 60 FFS. I've driven sevens (I own a westie) and the game drives nothing like the real life ones. And as for it having hundreds of cars, 50 variations of a scoob/skyline/evo/civic does NOT count.
And the GT5 (or whatever it'll be called) will NOT look like that in the game footage. I don't care what the replay looks like, I rarely watch them, I prefer instead to play the game. If I wanted to watch cool footage then I'd watch a real TV race.
