Just cancelled my broadband at AOL after being a customer for 13 years after yet another round of **** ups followed by repeated lies and differing stories from foreign call centres......
i have spent 7 hours 52 minutes on 0870 320 2020 mostly on hold over the past 2 days.

at each stage it takes 15-20 minutes on hold at my expense. then after asking why yet again i have had my broadband disconnected. according to my indian sounding telephone advisors -
1) I either have a 94 mile long dsl lead and connect to a telephone line in a different town and a different county and have done for 9 months
2) i perform a magical trick and connect to them on a line that is not and never has been dsl enabled and used it for over 600 hrs.
3) Bt have seized my line and they don't know why
4) I cancelled my order on november 16th
5)november 16 i upgraded my account and therefore they need to disconnect me then apply to BT to enable my line again and i would be offline for 7-10 days.
5) i'm someone else - after answering my security question they called me "mr carter" (not my name).
6) they disconnected me on the 29-12-06 for technical reasons and it will take 7-10 days......
let me put you on hold and transfer you.... (followed by 20 minute wait) is the standard response to each disagreement to their reasons
NOTE TO MODS- I feel totally safe on this because i can provide notes taken at the time and always noted the time of each conversation and the name of each advisor - plus my phone bill will verify the call times etc.
I WILL ALSO BE TAKING LEGAL ACTION TO COLLECT THE COSTS OF CALLS AND ALL CHARGES LEVIED BY AOL FOR SERVICES THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED - SEE IF THEY TURN UP AT SMALL CLAIMS COURT
