Anyone got any recommendations on the above?
I've heard a few and the transmission/reception was rather crackling and distorted.

I use an older version of this, eBay.co.uk: NEW VR3 SD USB MP3 WMA FM MODULATOR TRANSMITTER VRFM9 (item 110070704138 end time 27-Dec-06 22:00:00 GMT)
Plugs into the cigarette lighter socket so it's totally portable. Mine can either take a flash drive or your MP3 player. Good sound quality (although it depends on the bitrate of the tracks obviously) and I've used it in 3 car convoys to provide the tunes, the range is that good.
