You don't need to damage a uPVC door to open it Google "bump lock"
Feel for the guy, would have hated that happening when I had a car worthy.

Alot of pvc doors have panels with a UPVC/Polystyrene sandwich arrangement, which are pretty useless.
I specced my UPVC door panel to have a solid MDF core in it, which is obviously abit more secure.
If they are determined to get in, they will unfortunately ............. our 2 dogs are our back-up security!!

None of that makes a difference Im afraid: all you need is a little practice and a blank key cut to maximum on all positions. You can open ANY Euro-lock that way and a good deal of other non-mortice locks too...

The reality is that their are a hell of alot of manufacturers of Euro-style locks and the shape/profile of the keys for each are different one.
A thief would need a set of bump keys for every manufacturer of Euro-style locks, then stand at your door trying to work out which one will actually go into the lock and then do his stuff to get in.
I have 3 UPVC doors with different manufacturers of Euro-style locks, none of the wrong keys will even slide into to the locks of the others due to being very different in profile.
Just a quick reality check!

I don't question the efffectiveness of bump keys one bit, but the fact is that the profile of the bump key has to physically fit into the profile of the lock being picked.
The various sites about bump keys show pictures of various styles of bump keys for this reason.

We have a steel front door and back door plus the 2 dogs lose downstairs. Should slow someone down I hope. Though this does'nt help if I am at a garage or something. Luckerly I know the asians at my local BP and they tend not to mess around. I have seen one of them fly after someone outside who tried to get away without paying for petrol.

I think it's disgusting that a man should have to stand up against 3 masked men in the early hours of the morning in his own house when he's tired and in shock.... by throwing a dyson at them.
Would this have happened in the US with the risk of being met by a bullet in the head? Not likely

You try and get a spare key for a registered security profile lock :sus:
Thats not a worry most people dont double lock them and that makes it even easier to get into with two bits of wood you know the ones that the handle doesn't unlock from the outside !!!
After spending many years working with a locksmith you would be amazed how easy some locks are to get into
I have allsorts of weponary(sp) to aid in access :sus:
