Halogen lightin help
Hi all,
Got 2 halogen lights recessed in the downstairs toilet, both are turned on using the same switch.
1 has gone, but the bulb will work in the other recess, so I guess the transformer has failed due to a spike or something?
How am I supposed to get it out? I have no idea how big they are and if I can (gently) pull it out of the hole? They were installed before we moved in. I would have thought they would be installed so they can easily come out... or do I have to take up the upstairs carpet and rip up the boards?
TIA
John

Chances are, the transformer will be floating around in the void near to the fitting. Carefully pull the fitting away from the ceiling, watch the mousetrap springy clips don't nip your fingers, pull the cabling and with luck the transformer will appear at the hole, and should pull through.

Yes - just get another 12v transformer.
Better still, change the fitting to 240v halogen and ditch the transformers all together.
