I think you can do this through the Itunes program,
Can you copy them from your Ipod to your itunes Library, then from Itunes onto your wife's ipod?
Never tried it but the theory sounds good!

You can't unless you've got the music file on your hdd - iTunes copys to the iPod but not vice-versa.

(you need some 3rd party software that takes music off the ipod and puts it onto your hdd then it can go on the nano.

You'll need to use something like Anapod to get the songs off your iPod before putting them on to hers. Alternatively, try turning off the automatic update in iTunes then select the songs you want to transfer and do a manual transfer. I've not done this before so try it at your own risk. I'm in a similar situation and that's why I'll be downloading and paying for Anapod this afternoon ($30 for the full version).

You can't copy from Ipod -> PC using Itunes, you can only copy from PC -> Ipod. Basically to stop easy sharing of millions of songs.
As above, there will likely be a third party bit of software that can do this.

Alternativley, get your mate fire all his Mp3 songs onto a DVD or two, then just copy them to your own PC.
