Default TV Problem

Just switched on my tv and the picture has got pink, bluey, purple, yellow tinges over the screen

Its a Beko TV and its coming up to 2 years old. Any ideas as to why it would go like this

Edit as tv is older than I first thought!

Have you moved a cinema sound type subwoofer near the TV recently?

needs degausing.

just turn it on and off a few times, should clear it,

if not, see if it has a degauss option in one of the menus

Do you know if it is the tube, if its an expensive repair? or is it just a case of time for another tv

i had a Beko a while ago, i am pretty sure that the tv has a 3 year warranty on it, have a look. some parts are covered for longer. if not Beko would prolly repair the tv free of charge if it is the tube , worth a go

On some TVs you can find that using the remote to switch the TV off (or rather in to standby), rather than physically turning the thing off with the button on the front of it DOESN'T then activate the degaussing process when you power back on.

If you normally just turn off with the remote, then (a) don't and (b) it probably does need a good degaussing - through the menu if you have the option.

If you DO normally turn it off problem, it's probably borked. Beko - hardly the highest quality kit on the planet....

No

But I've e-mailed Beko and they have asked for the serial number and have said they are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Now they repaired it out of warranty last time FOC so it looks like they may this time too. So to the person who commented about the quality of Beko's products least they have excellent customer service which is worth more to me

Someone said I maybe be covered under some act as an item of equipment should last as long as you could reasonably expect. Will seen what Beko come back with which shouldn't be long.

I only e-mailed them last night and received a reply at 9 this morning, now thats service
