Boost your X-Box's performance...

Shaun, for you mate:
Sounds mad I know, but if you want your Xbox to go above and beyond the call of duty, well then your prayers have been answered.
15:14 Website Icrontic has now posted up two features that basically tell you how you can modify your Xbox. You might have thought it was already the daddy: now it can be the daddy with sugar on top. The sugar daddy.
The first feature basically takes you through the innards of the machine and tells you what's what, but the fun really starts in part two. It's a bit of a "no guts, no glory" situation, because, if you want to play around at tweaking your Xbox, you're going to have to pull the thing apart and get your hands dirty; and risk screwing your machine for good.
Eek!
There are a number of things that the Icrontic Xbox-masher has tried, some successful some not. Switching the cable that connects the hard drive to the motherboard was met with an improved CD to hard drive ripping speed, while attempts to adapt the machine to support USB mouse and USB keyboard didn't seem to work.
Other sweet bits include the possibility to mess around with the Xbox's network settings and play both Halo and Tony Hawk online with other owners of Microsoft's console. However, a little bit of a helping hand is needed in the shape of a PC running Windows or Linux...
Propellorheads should certainly find this an incredibly interesting read; it's quite amazing to see what people have already attempted to do or have succeeded in doing with the Xbox.

I didn't realise Digital Illusions were writing this game - they're a top TOP developer. They wrote my 2nd favourite PC driving game - Rally Masters, so this WILL be good.

rsquire,
sorry mate - wasn't sure about WindowsCE - haven't payed much attention to X-Box really until now. Still can't say I'm that keen on one.
What OS does it use ?

Haha, maybe this Citroen has adopted the brakes from my Citroen DS. In an efford to keep the unsprung weight down they placed the brakediscs next to the engine, on the beginning of the drive-axle.
Looks amazing though, i'm curious about the framerates...
