Had a outbreak of messages coming in today titled "Important Message From xxx" with the body text
"Here is that document you asked for ... don't show anyone else ;-)"

Nothing else on it, not attachments or anything...anyone else seen this?

could your virus software have cleaned the mail by deleting the attachment?

I had one similar with a file attached called <filename>.doc.pif

I think its the Badtrans virus that JackClark warned us about.

DELETE IT ASAP, and as good measure make sure you have the latest virus signatures and run a full scan.

I personally don't bother, but 95% of the 15,000 email users on our exhange server do!

Over the past few days I've been recieving loads entitled 'Re:' from all sorts of different folks. All 40k in size with nothing in them. I just delete them straight off. Antone else had this / know what it is?

Had a bundle too (mainly from scoobynet peeps ) but my webmail application strips the virus attachment off.

I suppose that is how the virus tries to get your interest when you receive a blank message but with an attachment, then d/click attachment for message

Delete them & any that come in with an attachment.
