Between Reading and Wokingham is a place called Earley. When I was waiting at Wokingham station for the train to London last night, there was the excellent announcement..
"For passengers awaiting the London Waterloo service, the train has now left Earley and is 19 minutes late"
Bet that confused anyone who isn't local

Don't get me started on the trains
I was supposed to fly to Ireland yesterday from Heathrow. The train was supposed to depart at 6:44 and eventually turned up at 7:55!! And this was supposed to be the one for 6:14!!
Needless to say I missed my flight and the train company will be getting a letter.

While I waited at the station, every train seem to be announced as the "delayed ... service to ...". The train back to Wokingham in the evening ran late as well.
And the government wonder why we are so keen to use our cars.
I would call them Muppets, but that is an insult to our friends a couple of forums away

Trains over here are great - There are regular service everywhere, and they always run so late you can just catch an earlier one, get home at the same time and then bitch about it anyway
