Another broken New Labour promise
Remeber when Tony Bliar said that everyone would have access to an NHS dentist within 2 years. Well mine has just gone private as he says he cannot work within the new NHS guidelines and it will now cost me and Mrs Chip nearly £40/month to join a dentist plan to care for our teeth
Blair said the electorate had 24 hours to save the NHS. Yeah right!

Don't join DenPlan ......................
Pay as you go is an option?
Use the Emergency Dentist, free, when needed?
I agree that it is a **** situation - we all pay through our taxes for their training and then they go where the money is (and thats private) ..... after training Dentists should be contracted to the NHS for 5 years, that way they can contribute a bit back into the system that trained them .. seems reasonable to me?

Now correct me if i,m wrong, but isnt this a bit odd??
the NHS
Hospitals offer free treatment, any pills potions jabs etc you get once admitted are foc, so why do you have to pay for your aftercare once discharged (srcips are bloody expensive)
Doctors are free, they dont charge for appointments, or have a sliding scale of charges for the treatments.
so why do we have to pay for dental exams, or optician tests?
surley if they are opperating under the auspicies of the NHS, it should be free?
even the sliding scale of charges (to balance things at a dentist, is horrendous)
why is an exam 15.50, but a scale and polish free (included in the charge) what if you dont need a scale an polish (me) why should i pay for somthing i,m not getting?
the whole system is out of hand, and need reviewing properly!
