Default Recommend some good films

Folks,

As above, can you recommend good DVD's which you've seen recently.

Not into horror, nor any soppy ****.
****'s probably out too as the missus wouldn't watch unfortunately.

Ta,

Shaun

Good, keep it up.

Wife signed up for tesco's DVD rental a while ago and is complaining that
1) I never go to the site and choose movies
2) I don't like most of the movies she picks (Wonder why)

So, if I can now just wack on a load of titles which are recommended from you guys then that's me off the hook.

Tesco's site if pretty crap for the DVD section, it's so awkward to look for movies, fine if ou know what you want though.

Thanks,
Shaun

You can't beat a good Jet Li film.

One of my utter favorite films, ever. "Kiss of the Dragon".

Not really a film for the missus, but s0d her. She can do some housework while your enjoying the film, with a beer

Stilover ................. Sexist Pig.

I just watched Vanilla Sky again and even though it has Tom Cruise it is probably one of my favourite films.

City of God - if you like gangster/crime movies you'll find this similar but has a very gritty realism (as it's based on real life in the slums of Rio) and within 5 minutes you forget you're watching a subtitled Brazilian film.

Blood Diamond - best film I've seen recently - action/adventure

Transformers - ok leave the brain out, but for non-stop full-on action and entertainment this is great! I was amazed at how good it was!

Big Trouble in Little China - an oldie - got it a couple of months back after having not seen it for at least 10 years - a classic!

The Prestige - watch it before you make any opinion at all. In fact don't even read the cover, just watch it.
