The house ins premium is 800 quid cos she happened to ring them about the bay having a little crack in it, Barry the builder said 400 quid but she rang anyway and they more than doubled the premium, cheers !

I should add - I get free breakdown cover thrown in too (and I should think so too ), and they'll knock 20% off my house insurance premium when its due.

Not going, just on the Saabs the heads are prone to allowing a bit of water out, the bolts have a coating on and this allows them to slip a bit letting the seal go, this lets some water out, I have the Saab bulletin that basically describes tightening the head back down, easy enough, hence the request for torque wrench recomendations, its just blowing a little bit of steam from the front of the engine when its warming up, one warm it seals and it doesnt do it, just need to top it up until I sort it.

So no, I havent killed another one, once I sort that I can atend to the clonking suspension and squealing clutch thrust bearing.

Thumbs down

I was with Norwich Union Direct, until my renewal quote came through, it had gone up by £400

For no reason! I have made no claims, my car has a clifford concept and Tracker, have 8 years NCD been driving for 10 years

Phoned them to ask, why the increase!

Reply - Oh, well, we're not sure sir, we'll look into it. Never heard anything, so I emailed them, never heard anything

So phoned up and cancelled the policy, I had to ask the person on the phone 4 times that I wanted the policy cancelled, they were not having it. (Foreign call centre)

It got to the stage where I was having to practically shout down the phone, demanding that they cancel the policy.

Never again, Norwich Union Direct are very poor, would avoid them if possible!

Yeah, they probably reckon the handling is good enough to avoid the sheep.

Beautiful place with friendly locals, by the way. Backpacked around both islands at the beginning of the year. Christchuch is a lot of fun !

Was working late last week (commercial insurance brokers). The cleaner says
"Do you know about insurance ?" ~ "A bit"

"I've just come off my third ban, do think my premiums will be higher than average ?" ~ "Errrr, yes, 'fraid so !"
