Question

Just found out that at 7pm bt have cocked up once again, something to do with a problem throughout the country.

Basically it wont let anybody connect, but ive just tried bt daytime and its worked, obviously trying to scrape every penny out of everyone as they know others need to get on the net

SURFTIME is free after 6pm, DAYTIME is not so it dont take a lot of working out FUC%ING **** STABBER5.

I've never known a such a load of crap. Im on surftime and every 1/2 hr I get 'would u like to reconnect'?? OF COURSE I F*CKING DO.

Anyone know of another internet service provider that charges the same as these TO55ERS, and does the same sort of deal.

Sorry for the language I've used but it ****IN9 P155es me right ****IN6 OFF.

Hope you can help.

I sympathise and have been there. Greatxscape, then Lineone, then BTi. All either went crap or withdrew their offer. All denied all problems.

Now with Tiscali. Pretty good - can play online Quake and UT again! usually connects first time. Occ runs slow, but as good as anything I've found so far. Seems as good as the 0845 ISPs. £15 Anytime is the deal I'm on.

I will go for ADSL when the self install package comes out in Jan. Just been made available on my exchange, but I gather it has its fair share of problems too.

I'm with BT interent and its been fine today. I had major problem with them a year ago which nearly drove me insane trying to get some help from them. I've found them pretty good now.

Customers of BTInternet, or any other ISP are completely free to use whoever they choose. If you think you can get a better service somewhere else then go somewhere else, rather than hurle infantile ignorant abuse on a totally inappropriate medium.

Maybe we can have a thread about sausages, or cactuses, or bread making, or anything else equally appropriate to a Scooby Bulletin Board.

I'm another sufferer of the great UK internet swindle... Lineone, redhotant etc...
I'm on the Anytime package and have been with them since they launched it. Generally had no major problems although there was a period when it all went to pot. I eventually rang them and discovered that as a "heavy" user (no life etc etc) they had bought out a new special dial up number. Since changing to that I've had no problems

I'm still waiting for broadband to arrive though..... 10 miles from Swindon, 7 mins from the M4....I might as well be in Timbuktoo..

How strange......I'm with Telewest broadband and its been unavailable all night until just now. There was me thinking I fixed it. Support centre didn't have a clue what was wrong. I eventually found that the cable modem washaving major problems keeping a line alive. Re-configuration after re-configuration failed, then suddenly.......IT WORKS

I usaully ignore the comments made about BT because they are usually aimed at the company. However POC saying we are all a "clueless bunch of W**kers" is saying all who work for them are. Now that I take personally. As I work for BT
For every bad experience there are 10 people who have good experiences with BT and it has been proved time and time again that a person who has a bad experience will shout it from the highest roof top or at least tell an average of 10 people about there experience. Yet a person who has a good experience with BT or any other company will on average only tell 2 people.

What I would say is complain to the company rather than just slag it and its people off on a bullitin board.

Would it not be great if the world was perfect. But hey it's not and things go wrong.

If you don't like the service you can change supplier.

Pete

Everyone is soooo right BT is unbelieveable..
Every month there servers go down for a least 2 or 3 days. I used to rely on them hosting a business website but they are way too unreliable.. I now host on a dedicated server...
Has anyone found a good ISP ie.. not BT or Freeserve or Breathe.

Well Pete

I used to work for BT and I got fed up defending them all the time so I left...... Oh and I didn't like Vallance/Bonfield 'cos I thought they were selling us out, seems I was right.

Has no one heard about BT's project called "constrictor"? They have a programme that detects frequent users of 'surf time' and disconnects them regularly. You will then have trouble re-connecting. This is to persuade you to join 'anytime'. This was even leaked to Watch Dog who complained to BT.

It has happened to me especially when I use chat. I would change but I don't want to rebuild my PC to change providers again (I can't seem to get rid of the crap once you delete the s/w).

Pete,

That's why good customer service is the art of making sure that you don't have sooooo many p!issed off people shouting from the rooftops!

Unfortunately I've been at the end of BTs "well if you don't like it we will allow you to cancel your service (!)". I don't consider I was particularly difficult, I just wanted the service I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR!! Sorry if you feel slighted, I'm sure you and a lot of others at BT doing their best, but you can't split off one of your products and say "oh yeah, that bits crap but the rest is OK", much as BT seem to want to.

I HAVE complained frequently to BT, so have many others but it doesn't seem to get you anywhere (other than the chance to cancel your service) so I'll carry on shouting it from the rooftops in the hope that I might prevent others from making the same mistake (if it's OK with you ).

all the best,

Dean
