Aussie Citizenship...
Right, my mum, brother and sister all moved to Perth, Australia about 18 months ago and will receive their full citizenship next month. How hard/easy would it be for me to get Citizenship? Would I have to go through the same stupidly long process as them, or would it be quicker for me having next of kin out there already who are officially full citizens?
Just had enough of this once great country and what it’s quickly turning into
mild winters and 35+oC summers right on the Indian Ocean is sounding better and better as each day goes by…
Thanks
Wez

Do you have any other immediate family still in the uk?
I believe that if all your immediate family live in Australia you get automatic citizenship.
Could be wrong though

You used to be able to be sponsored by Australian citizens.
Take into account, that benifits are not a right, health care is not a right, and they will only want you if you can offer a trade/profession that they are short of, AND you can prove that there is no Aussie that can do it. At least, that's how it used to be. Give the Aussie high commision in London a ring, they'll know the up to date answers
Also take into account that the world's most poisonous snake, the world's most poisonous fish, the world's most poisonous spider, and the world's most poisonous jellyfish, all live there. And don't even start on the world's ONLY poisonous mammal, cane frogs, crocs, alligators, one of the world's most aggressive and fastest snakes, etc etc. Shudder

Think that only applies if you are a spouse or widow. I think you will need to have been a permanent resident of Australia for at least two years. Have a look at the Australian Gov site. I've been looking into this too
