As with all recent terrorist attacks, the source of this particular unrest also brings us back to Pakistan. The rogue nation is the main suspect in supplying the nuclear know-how (originally stolen from Europe) in return for balistics technology.

Depends on where they want to deliver them. I suspect Seoul and possibly Japan is well within the range of anything the North Koreans currently have (aircraft, cruise-type missiles). And they are developing ballistic missiles - which haven't yet got the payload capacity, but watch this space...

It's pure geo-political posturing, they know they would get bombed to **** from all directions if they even considered using any nuclear capability against another state.
The eyes of the world are on them, they can't sneeze without America / China / Japan / S Korea knowing at what speed and which bacteria it contained.
Also as Pete says, none of their missiles could take a nuclear payload yet.

When I think of all the research and nuclear tests done by the USA and us in the past, atmospheric and underground, I feel that it is in some way hypocritical for us to slam them for manufacturing what we have done and still do of course.
It is true that during the cold war we were safer than we are now from attack, the world is becoming more far dangerous now and other nations acquiring nuclear weapons can only make it worse. The big worry is that terrorists might get hold of them too. It is a positive worry and I don't see how the rest of the world can deal with it effectively. Military action would be a big mistake as we well know from recent events. I think that the only way is by negotiation and even use of sanctions as long as that is done in a sensible manner and does not make the lot of the people in that nation seriously bad. They are having a hard enough time as it is. Maybe China might have more success with that kind of approach.
What about Iran as well!

"We'll run the world our way" Bush is a huge problem. I don't think he could get away with charging into N Korea as even he (please) must realise the consequences of that. Did anyone see the interview with the King (President?) of Syria last night on the Beeb. On the face of it quite a reasonable bloke, ex-London doctor, but took the Arab anti-West stance and quite frankly you couldn't really blame him. Clearly hated Bush and didn't trust him one bit. Who does?
So I would say try and keep N Korea on board and don't risk anything that gets their backs up. As said the worst that might happen is that in a few years they sell a couple of nukes to a terrorist group. At least it's a long way from us

If N/Korea have Nuclear weapons, and in the future those weapons can travel to Britain/USA, N/Korea would be commiting suicide. If one weapon fire towards us or America (more likely America) 50 nuclear missiles would be fired straight back at them.
However, I do think it's wrong for counties such a N/Korea to have Nuclear technology, as they could easily drop one on S/Korea/China/Japan etc. This could easily lead to WW3. Then we'd all be fcuked.

Strangely enough, I watched a film the other day. It was about N.Korea having nuclear missile capability. America wanted it destroyed etc.
The film is "Behind enemy lines II - axis of evil".
The day after watching the film, I heard about the nuclear test in the news. It certainly made the film all the more believable.
